Kaila E. McCormack

Kaila grew up visiting family in Marquette and moved there as soon as she could! She received her undergraduate degree in International Studies and Law, Justice, and Social Change from the University of Michigan. She earned her law degree from Michigan State University College of Law, where she was a member of the Family Law Society and the Women’s Law Caucus. During her law school summers, she worked as a law clerk with Kendricks Bordeau, P.C. and returned upon graduation. From 2024 to 2025, Kaila participated in the Lake Superior Leadership academy, which provided her with the opportunity to meet with leaders from all segments of the community, learn about community projects, and discuss needs and challenges in the community. She is also a volunteer mediator with Marquette Alger Resolution Service.

Kaila’s practice focuses on estate planning and administration, family law, and business formation. In Kaila’s estate practice, she helps clients implement an estate plan that is unique to each family and financial situation. She helps her clients and their families work through estate administrations, which can often seem daunting after the loss of a loved one. Kaila guides clients through divorces, helps parents navigate custody disputes, and creates prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She also assists business owners to get their businesses up and running.
