Teresa M. Laakso and Kurt C. Nason Earn Paralegal Certification
The firm is pleased to announce that assistants Teresa M. Laakso and Kurt C. Nason have successfully completed their paralegal studies and have become Certified Paralegals.
Teresa has been with the firm since 1993, having obtained her Associate degree from Northern Michigan University and paralegal training from Western Michigan University. Teresa provides support for real estate and title matters and litigation. Teresa resides in Republic with her family.
Kurt obtained Associate and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Northern Michigan University, and is a native of Sault Ste. Marie. Kurt received his paralegal training from Western Michigan University. He assists with estate planning, corporate and real estate transactions, and probate. Kurt resides in Marquette.
The Certified Paralegal examination program is developed by the National Association of Legal Assistants, a nonprofit organization representing 18,000 paralegals nationwide. Applicants complete a comprehensive examination on topics ranging from legal research and ethics to knowledge of the American legal system, civil litigation business organizations, and contracts. Certified Paralegals maintain their status with periodic continuing legal education requirements.
